Episode 23: My 5 Biggest Leadership Mistakes And How To Avoid Them

I believe that not all mistakes are created equal.

There is the “I got home from the store and forgot to buy milk” kind of mistake and then there is the “Ronald Wayne” kind of mistake. Who is Ronald Wayne? I’m glad you asked!

Most people know that Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple back in 1976. What most people don’t know is that Apple actually had a third founder named Ronald Wayne. 12 days after founding Apple, Wayne sold his share of the company to Jobs and Wozniak for $800.00. Apple is now worth over one trillion dollars. Ouch!

One of the reasons that I created the Private School Leader Podcast was so that you can learn from the mistakes that I've made in my career. On today’s episode, I am going to share with you My 5 Biggest Leadership Mistakes And How To Avoid Them:

  1. Not prioritizing my health
  2. Believing a story that wasn’t true
  3. Letting my integrity slip
  4. Being a positional leader
  5. Not setting boundaries

I hope that you will listen. More importantly, I hope that you will avoid these mistakes and be a happier, more effective and more fulfilled leader! Thank you for taking me along with you when you are walking the dog, driving to school or running errands. I appreciate you and what you are doing for the lucky kids and teachers at your school. Thanks so much for listening and thanks for making a difference!
